Abyssinia
This is a redesign of an Ethiopian restaurant changing locations in Philly. Another key feature I wanted to include was the community aspect I noticed when visiting the restaurant and researching the culture. They had a calendar posted with daily events and community experiences they host, so I created a receipt flyer takeaway for customers.
My Concept
Focusing on the natural colors from the food and culture and using the designs of the woven mesobs, we created a logo with variations, to showcase the shapes and symbols commonly used. The 5 petal flowers in the center reference the florals commonly used and pay tribute to the 5 petal flowers of their coffee plant the caffea arabica. It also stands for the 5-point pentagram on the Ethiopian flag that symbolizes the unity of different cultures and religions within their country.
